bend it

I've been watching the show Avatar: the last air bender with the girlfriend. It’s all ages with a leaning towards children, but it at least is a show with some ambition. I enjoy the fact that there is an arc to the show and it has a definitive ending. I was watching an episode on Netflix and found that it recommended that I watch the live action movie. I never saw it but had known of its terrible reputation. It’s one thing to read about how bad it is but it’s another thing to witness it yourself. Terrible doesn’t even begin to describe it; the movie seems tone deaf, grim, and needlessly blue in its palate. This movie was such a joyless slog, one has to wonder why nickelodeon thought it would be a good idea to make it. I realize that I am dumping on it a year after the face but yikes, avoid this stinker at all costs.
