my bad

I sort of stepped into today while texting my girlfriend. I had mentioned that I enjoyed her website, and she took much umbrage with my choice of words. Now I am not a woman, and as sympathetic as I might be to various causes I really have no idea about the sort of condescension women face throughout their lives. It also doesn’t quite matter what that the words and phrases I used while texting weren’t meant to be interpreted as disrespectful or boorish, I was just saying something in a way that I thought would be playful. I guess the real takeaway from all this is that I should probably rethink my policy of saying whatever comes to mind.
