I understand that Fox news represents the dreams and aspirations of that mythical “real America”, the wide swath of land sandwiched between two coasts of America who coincidentally thanks to the enormous tax burdens they take on allow this “real America” to exist. Apparently it’s the sort of place that longs to return to a similar time, when roofs were made of thatch, and man toiled in the field for his master, when people would find all the answers to their questions in the church, in short serfdom. I have come to this conclusion based on the apparent love Plutocrats receive on fox news, and I don’t understand how viewers who quite frankly will never have the wealth necessary to gain the respect of their parties masters, eat this arsenic up. Let’s be honest Fox news is the Mouthpiece of the Republican Party, a political party that has somehow made people think that fair wages, unions, gay marriage, gun control, and brown skinned immigrants are the biggest threat to American sovereignty. Now maybe I am crazy, but unchecked capitalism, the exploitation of the environment and workers, and the continued assault against the middle class is a much bigger threat to the stability of any country.
If being a part of “real America” means being anti intellectual, uncompassionate, and acting in a way that is detrimental to my long term preservation then so be it, because these “real Americans” come off as a bunch of assholes.
